ADHD
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Stupidest, most ridiculous name - why are people not calling this out???? Stop the stupid!!
Attention Deficit - I do not know anyone who has been diagnosed with having an attention deficit, to actually have an attention deficit.
Yes there are MAJOR problems regulating your attention or keeping your attention focussed on the correct thing(s) at the correct time(s), normally because there is an overabundance of attention, NOT a deficit.
I give people headaches when they see my computer screen with an insane number of tabs
Do you know what Grinds my gears?
When I have opened too many tabs and I can’t find the one I was just on and really do not want to open up another one, so you go through each of the tabs, can’t find it, surrender and OPEN UP A NEW TAB then the old one pops up - you’d gone in the tab overflow car park along the tab row.
DANG
I am not a DANG person. That was literally the first time I have ever used it. I just wrote it, then read it, and now I will not delete. DANG.
Just going to check its not an offensive word “No, "dang" is not generally considered offensive; it is a mild, socially acceptable substitute for the word "damn"“ Thanks again Dr Google.
I am officailly adding Dr Google to my ‘follow your own flow’.
She works for me, and I love her.
More from the fabulous Dr Google:
People with ADHD don't have deficit of attention; they have difficulty regulating and allocating it, which can manifest as being inattentive or getting easily distracted. However, they can also experience "hyperfocus," where they pay too much attention to things they find interesting, making it hard to switch to other tasks. The core issue is not a lack of attention but a struggle to control where and for how long it is directed, especially on non-preferred activities
Hyperactivity Disorder - I know some people/families really struggle with the Hyperactivity, so yes can see them agreeing with ‘disorder’, but some people do not consider it a disorder. I LOVE being ‘bouncy’. I run/skip/jump/hop/dance everywhere, but am physically unable to do any exercise more than once*, I do not like getting changed.
*exempt from statement - skiing, trampolining (in garden for 8 seconds), sledging, horse riding (been once in last 20 years), running up stairs (I live in a bungalow so it is novelty), anything fun, paddle boarding
‘Brain Hyperactivity Disorder’ maybe… but then equally my brain is magnificent.
We’ve been through a lot. But right now, we are super good friends and I will tell you why.
Everything was brain brain brain brain brain.
Other organs kept talking to me, I heard them all but did not listen.
Listen
Listen to your skin
Listen to your liver
Listen to your hands/feet/fingers
Listen to every part of you
Stop making your poor brain do all the work, no wonder my brain was exhausted and sending me horrible thoughts (like medication/therapy needed horrible) - it was burning out
Your whole body talks to you and tells you exactly what it needs.
Thirsty
Moisturise
Hat on
Sit down
Rest
Oh
This is how I cook. That is why I make weird concoctions up - my whole body is shouting at me to add ingredients they need. Garlic, onion, paprika, more onion…
I feel connected.
